O'Rourke's Diner

We had the pleasure of eating at a local restaurant icon, O'Rourke's Diner in Middletown, Connecticut today. Wanting to do something a little different than our usual Sunday morning breakfast around town, we decided to take a ride knowing that the end result would be some great desserty type breads with our breakfast. We have been here a few times before usually right after church, a little past 9:00 AM and there is rarely a line then but always is when we are leaving. So this morning we arrived closer to 10:00 AM to stand in a line of about 16 people. It's a good thing we did because the owner came out with a fresh hot tray of an almondy, chocolaty, buttery, cookie-like dessert to pass out to us hungry waiting folks. What a way to start off breakfast! In order to help the line along, those who wanted to double up with another couple got in quicker. We got to meet two very nice people and had a tasty breakfast as well. O'Rourke's is famous for their extensive, a
